we do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.

Relationship counseling is a place for loved ones to rekindle connection and grow together across difference and change. You’re here because the discord present in a significant relationship, be it with a spouse or partner(s), a lover, a dear friend, or one or more family member, is getting in the way of this.

This work is about learning how to communicate better, build trust and empathy, stick to agreements, practice shame resilience, discuss wanted changes, and ultimately make decisions that honor the truths of each involved.

Often times this work yields a strengthened bond… deepened intimacy… swifter, cleaner disagreements. Sometimes it leads to taking healthy space or even going separate ways, hopefully with as much compassion and dignity as possible. Whatever the outcome, this work is deeply powerful in building capacity to hold tension, complexity, and above all, Love.

We are highly adaptive, resilient creatures, and yet still encounter limits to our emotional tolerance and great tests of our spirit. You’re here because you’ve recognized a “too-much-ness” to the stress that is burdening your heart, interfering with your relationships and ultimately blocking you from a sense of fulfillment in your life. Your efforts to alleviate the pain are falling short and it’s time to seek additional, professional support.

Sometimes the struggle can be traced to a specific event — recent or past, personal or collective. Or it might manifest as a more generalized experience, like a dense fog that hovers about your days, a buzzing of the mind that simply won’t quiet, or a jittery-ness in your skin you can’t seem to shake. However it looks for you, individual therapy is a space dedicated to recovering and building capacity to get a handle on your troubles and welcome more ease and clarity into your life.
